Hey Chrissy, you did pretty spectacularly considering all the roadblocks 2021 threw up. Found you in my Substack Go writers' directory and I'm happy I did. I just turned 40, we have some common goals, and my word of the year is twofold: TRUST and SOAR.

Pleased to meet you!

Hey Deepa! Thanks for the kind comment. :) I love trust and soar as words for the year! I may keep those in my back pocket for 2023.

Just found you through the roll call thread as well, and love your optimism and goals for the future! My theme or word of the year, I suppose, is consistency. I write micros, so looking forward to your posts

Consistency is a great word! It's never been my "official" word but it's the concept that has brought me the most success and joy. A little bit on a regular basis - nothing beats it!

I'm enjoying your newsletter; congrats on 2021 accomplishments. Contact me or read my book if you'd like to add running to your health/wellness for 2022! I'm a running coach who specializes in helping late-blooming athletes discover running and uncover their athletic potential. As for 40th bday trip suggestions -- my suggestion has more to do with the type of travel and less about the destination. Try to take off significant time to travel nomadically with minimal stuff and a low budget. It really is about the journey, not the destination. My husband and I did that with our two kids when I turned 40; we ended up traveling around the world with one bag each, living cheap and roadschooling the kids. It was a life-altering experience that ultimately led to career changes. I'm 52 now and still look back on that as the best year of our lives.

Thanks, Sarah! I used to be an avid runner, but after a pretty serious ankle sprain, I've mostly retired from the sport. I love the idea of a traveling the world with minimal stuff and a low budget - maybe one day!

So good to have you, Sarah! I'm not a mother, but I do work in corporate America, so I understand your struggle to stay connected to your creative side. I hope my little newsletter can help!
