I used to be (oh, who am I kidding, I still am) an underbuyer... though I like to think of myself as a picky curator for my life. I have gotten myself to the stage where I will spend a bit more money on items, aka, my version of your boots, but will only buy myself something once every 6 months or so.... And in relation to being rubbish with budgeting time, I recently read Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman and had an epiphany - it's okay to let things go. My brain is still struggling with this concept of never finishing things and letting them go, but I am trying my hardest to be okay with that so that I can focus on the things that really are important to me.

Oh, I like "curator" much better than "under-buyer!" I'm not cheap, I'm just choosy. And Four Thousand Weeks is on my to-read list! Sounds like I may need to move it to the top of the pile...

Definitely move it up your list, it's really made me think about priorities in life LOL...

As a fellow under-budgeter, a definite +1 to YNAB, one of your referral links. One of the very few life-changing applications I've ever found, and worth every penny of the subscription fee.

I always describe YNAB as life-changing, because it literally is! I've been using it since 2016 and can't imagine life without it. I didn't even blink when they recently raised the price. I just thought, Yup, that's worth it!

Wow, I needed to see this so much as the first thing I saw when I turned on my computer today that I cried as I read it. Thank you. That creativity quiz was cute and I'm not at all surprised to find out my type is "the dreamer". Fits me perfectly.
