I love to hear that, Hurley! Not that you're running into "not yets" ("yes" is definitely nicer!) but that you could relate. Here's to the next yes - I'm sure it's coming soon!
Hey Chrissy. I'm so enjoying your newsletter and especially like this post re rejection and what it's prompted you to do, go surfing!!! I'm also reminded of what another Substack writer/editor told me a couple of years ago when he and I were sharing stories of rejection: 'Victory's in the doing!' It's an awesome attitude to embrace!
Great issue! I should probably pass on that feedback more often without asking anything in return! Like this!
Could you please check the link on Strengthening Your Friendships? It didn't work, and I couldn't successfully pinpoint the article on Google because you didn't provide any context, like an author, website, etc.
So beautifully stated, as always. “To pretend you’re not really interested in that thing, that you actually prefer to keep doing what you’re already good at.” Yes and oof and — not yet — but your words will help me keep trying!
Thank you for this, Chrissy! I’ve been running into a lot of “not yets” lately, and your words made me feel so seen.

Thank you for writing this, Chrissy! A much needed message when I am planning my next step for my career.
You're welcome, Celeste! And best of luck on your next steps. I'm rooting for you!

Victory's in the doing! I really love that - so true and also quite heartening! I'm good at doing. :)
I don't think I could love anything more than her book being full of typos. You love to see it.
Typos are her brand, Kelton!!!
The book was written in 67 vignettes, and I will say the last line of almost every one was a real banger. CC knows how to drop a mic!

Thanks for catching that! I updated it on Substack, but here is a direct link just for you: https://time.com/6301320/how-to-strengthen-friendships/

Thanks, Kara! Every issue is basically a reminder to myself. Nothing to do but keep going!
